Caves located at Lonavala lies between two famous cities Pune
and Mumbai of Maharashtra are the constructive work of unknown
Buddhist monks during the 3rd and 2nd century BC. These
caves are one of the most impressive and excellent
illustration for rock cut architecture and cave temples in the
country.
Lonavala itself is famous hill station in Maharashtra and
accessible from Pune and Mumbai. Architecture of caves
is dominating Buddhist style with illustrating Stupa, Chaitya
and Vihar.
